Well, that was brutal.

6 hours full on exertion in 3 sessions.

Hopefully there isn't a lot more to come.
It stopped being light and fluffy after round one.

2 more hours solid exertion this morning.

Thanks Oblizzard.

Once i start collecting Social Security and we have 2 checks coming in each month, i'll be shopping for a 10hp Toro.
Hardened gears in the transmission, so no pesky shear pins.

Just can't justify the expense right now.
Not gonna bother with a used one.

@Wilhelm if you're getting weather that's anything like ours, can I suggest you just invest in some snow shoes?

We have a few inches in the forecast this week, but it's good and cold, so there won't be the pressure to deal with it immediately to prevent the melt refreeze issue.
That shit is the worst.

I can schedule snow removal around training instead of the reverse.

I can probably even use the pushbroom if it's light and fluffy like it is when it's really cold.

Back over 0 for a high today, so that's a positive. It's a dry cold anyway.

I'll take cold and dry.

Preferably with a decent wind to keep the snow off the roof.

"...so that's a positive."

Looks like snow for 10 hours tomorrow beginning at 5am, on top of yesterday’s already dirty heap. Great.

64 and sunny means it’s time to open the garage doors for a daytime lift. Very anabolic.

Started yesterday removing the old RR tie retaining wall that was pitching forward at a pretty severe angle.
Had a cavity or ground nesting yellow jacket nest on the far end (in this pic) last year.
They had a handy supply of decayed wood right there for to make their paper from.

Pulling the spikes with a crowbar, hauling the timbers out back, and sourcing more big stones (yesterday and today as well) into and out of the back of the Subie was a big part of today's exertions.
Besides the wrangling everything into place.
Had to break out a mattock for some of the timbers on the lower course.
Some sledgehammering here and there...
i'm glad the whole region here is basically rocks and sand.
Makes this kind of thing a no money venture.

I'm wrecked, but tomorrow's deadlifts are basically a delaod since it's the start of a new block.
This was definitely the best time to complete this project before the July meet.
The soil above will gradually melt down into the wall.

I'm also having my 6 tons of wood pellets delivered late this year, so i don't have to load them in while still training for the July meet.
