27% Body Fat - Brian Alsruhe - Nope
I think Brian Alsruhe is swell. Other then Alan Thrall, he is the most personable and accessible of the youtube powerlifting/strongman/sailormoonfanfic personalities. And I know he is showing a sponsors product but...I am not sure he is doing their scale justice by showing such a patently false reading. Nope.

After years of trying, I've finally achieved 100% bodyfat. LOL at this guy being 27%.

Re: 27% Body Fat - Brian Alsruhe - Nope
my stupid bio-impedance scale do0-hickey-scale-thingy says I'm 13-16% in the morning.
and then 19%-24% in the evening.
I magically gain 5% of body fat err'y day.
And then burn it all off at night, even though my total weight stays within 2 lbs.
Yep, I eat ~38,000 calories a day, and burn that off while I sleep.
Those things are total shit IMO.
I used to think as long as they were consistent (precise?), but not "real-life" accurate, you'd be OK and be able to see if you were actually losing fat.
I wonder if Brian Alsruhe "bone percentage" changes throughout the day? or whether or not he has a erection at the time of weighing.

If he is 27%, I am at least 4x as fat so I have managed 108%+ fatness. Which is entirely possible in my case, don't know much about the maths or biology but I am comfortable acknowledging I am a completely amorphous pile of sentient lard.

Re: 27% Body Fat - Brian Alsruhe - Nope
The scales are notoriously inaccurate and in personal experience they don't keep consistent readings anyway, so using them track relative changes (while ignoring the absolute readings) is useless as well. I don't generally read youtube comments (I am lying) but the fact that several people think 22 to 27% body fat is accurate for Brian is 1)indicative of the unrealistic body standards place on today's man by the fitness industry, we guys sure have it tough 2) trolling has went full circle from stupid to absurd to sarcastic back to stupidly absurd.mbasic wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 10:34 am my stupid bio-impedance scale do0-hickey-scale-thingy says I'm 13-16% in the morning.

I don't know what y'all are worrying about. I have one of those bio-scale-thingies, and it shows lower fat percent than any other method I've tried. So of course I'll go with what the bio-scale is telling me, right? Right.

Alan Thrall or Omar did I similar video. I can't remember, but it featured some Bodybuilder dude, he was pretty lean/cut but his Dexa reaults were all that hot. It depends where you carry your fat, and how it covers you ab-razorz . I just breezed thru the video, but that one pic of him....yeah sure I could see 20%ish being accurate.

Brian is a beast... And a big guy, but I'd guesstimate he ranges around 10-15% body fat. Right?bobmen10000 wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 9:49 am I think Brian Alsruhe is swell. Side note, but anybody ever try Brian's "Giant Set" thing? Basically it's 3 moves back-to-back with no rest b/w the 3: it's an antagonistic movement (pendlay row) --> main movement (bench press) -- core movement (ab roller) --> then rest 90 seconds.. --> On to set 2....
It's Brutal, but you get a ton of work done in a short amount of time. I'm tempted to roll this into my Montana Method to get a little summer shred on... but man, it's hard to get motivated to move that fast EVERY session.

Re: 27% Body Fat - Brian Alsruhe - Nope
There is no way Brian is over 15% unless he has the greatest set of birthing hips ever. Alan was like high teens to low twenties, at about the same weight, and he is significantly less muscular/cut than Brian.mbasic wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 11:25 am Alan Thrall or Omar did I similar video. Re: 27% Body Fat - Brian Alsruhe - Nope
By the way, I have way too much time on my hands to be arguing the body fat percentage of Brian Alsruhe. He is a beast, likely a former covert government ninja assassin and friends with Brian Shaw who is rumored to have eaten a live bear. So yeah, his bf % is probably not terribly important.

Re: 27% Body Fat - Brian Alsruhe - Nope
Not only is the fat % way off, but the bone measurement is too low as well.
Also, Brian is a really cool dude in my opinion. His video with Miles was great.
