I've been dieting for like 12 years and haven't had a fatty cut of steak in a long time. My mouth is actually watering rn.
Where do you buy your prime steak? How much do you pay?

It's not particularly fatty, other than being well-marbled. Certainly fattier than anything from the round, but less than ribeye or strip. Costco removes the fat cap, so there is absolutely nothing to trim off.

Best steak that can be purchased for less than $100 IMO. I set it out, covered, on the counter for 90-120 minutes, dry it good with paper towels, apply a super thin layer of olive oil, and apply a generous amount of coarse pepper, coarse kosher salt, and some garlic powder. Grill about 6 minutes per side. Set on a plate loosely covered with foil for another 5 minutes. This with homemade mashed potatoes, and wine or sparkling apple cider is our go-to wedding anniversary and birthday meal.
Edit - the cap steak we get is at least $19.99/lb, so I'm guessing it's ribeye?

Maybe they fucked up at my Costco. I've seen label errors there before.

I just bought some yesterday at $6.49/lb.
I'm in the DC area in case that adds a useful data point to the discussion.
Also set a bench PR for the first time in forever today. Attributing that entirely to Root and his steak suggestions.

Same. Also bought some yesterday, will grill them tonight. Hopefully. The morning was a disaster, and wife is home today with the kid, so tonight might be all me to let her get out of the house. I guess it is light out late enough for me to make a go of it after kid goes to bed.

$7.49 here but hard to find. I made a pack for mother's day dinner and they were delicious.Allentown wrote: ↑Mon May 07, 2018 5:31 amSame. Also bought some yesterday, will grill them tonight.
