The Unfattening

#1

Post by mbasic » Wed Feb 21, 2024 5:36 am

I have gotten too fat.
So I'm going to try to lose 25 pounds, through diet and cardio.
I'm 52 years old now and I'm starting to worry about my overall health markers: lipids, BP, vascular system, etc

I lift, but the logging that seems boring, and seems like its .... "un-inciteful" to anyone that may read about my gym flailing.
Also of note, both shoulders went into fuckery mode right at the exact same time.
I do not think its an acute injury, I think it might be an inflammation/arthritis thing.
So mostly doing legs.

Another point of interest here is the wife and I bought a barrel sauna about 3 months ago.
Wired house for 220, installed it in the garage, etc.
More recently, I have been using it diligently ... 3-6x / week.
It is supposed to help with everything .... hypertrophy, vascular system, mental state, sleep, immune system, etc.
A lot of recent science seems to back up the lost standing claims of sauna use .... "heat shock proteins", etc

2-18-2024 Sun.
WALK: 1 hour am walk w/ doggo
GYM: abs circuit then 40 min elliptical
Yard work 2 hours
SAUNA: 25 min / 5 min break / 10 min
DIET: 7/10

2-19-2024 Mon.
rest day
DIET: 7/10

2-20-2024 Tues
LIFTED: squats and lunges. Ass is sore now
SAUNA: 20min with 30min preheat, so super hot for that 20 min.
DIET: 7/10 today

I had high hopes until crashing into that parenthetical.

Glad you’re logging again.

Note: that concoction she came up with did not work acutely, it had the opposite effect last night ....
...although she did say beforehand its a cumulative thing that takes days/weeks.

Watching too, since I fat fucked my self a bit lately and am looking to lose 20 pounds or so. I've been dieting and getting more outdoor activity mostly from yard work but haven't lost more than a pound or two so far.

Instead of a sauna I have a hot tub. I can say for sure it helps with recovery as I can feel very sore going in and hardly feel anything coming out. Probably helps with sleep too. Is yours a dry or wet sauna?
