I ran this about 8-9 years ago when my numbers were much smaller, but I did not enjoy doing 5x10 for any lift followed by accessory work, especially deadlifts. I've found RTS/BBM style programming scratches that itch for both strength and getting some hypertrophy work. Something like a top single @ 8, followed by a set of 5@9, and then use those numbers to calibrate my volume work somewhere in the 72% - 75% range. I also found doing one lift a day doing 5x10 meant I was always extremelely sore and plateaued. I found it more productive to spread the volume out over the week.
Much like Rip, Wendler uses a lot of histrionics in his writing which I dont find helpful at all. Take what he says with a grain of salt.
5/3/1 boring but big?
