Good work man.Wilhelm wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 8:38 am Congratulations @Skid
great work.
**
Got my first ever 350+ DOTS score yesterday, which was one of my stated goals for this meet.
As well as placing 2nd in Masters, which was another goal.
First place was out of reach with the 40 year old M1 putting up 430 something DOTS.
Did not increase my total which was my other stated goal, but i'm not upset at all by that.
Bench for sure took a hit with the weight cut.
Third attemp was depressingly close to going up, but honestly my plan was based on making my 2nd.
Called for 220kg for my 3rd deadlift, and that was the right decision.
Cut for three months after signing up November 7th, then 6 weeks maintenance.
Time to get stronger in the -90kg class
192.5kg meet best squat and 5kg under my best total while weighing in 6.4kg lighter than that meet.
84.7 kg at weigh in yesterday
Placed dead center of the Men's overall field as an M3 in the strongest ever roster for a USAPL Maine meet.
It was a good day.
28 men's lifters registered totals

Re: Powerlifting Meets/Results
Meet results:
Despite some misgivings about competing, I had a successful meet. I went 9 for 9, set a national bench record, and slightly increased my national total record. Although this was a provincial meet, they had national level judges, so my lifts will count as national records.
Masters 3, 105kg - British Columbia provincial meet
Squat (weights in KG's):
190 - didn't know what to expect based on my last few weeks of training so opened light
200 - This weight seemed to move better than my opener
210 - This was a bit of a strain, but I had more in the tank
Bench - Competition is always harder than training. The start command came after several seconds of holding, and the press command seemed really long in coming too.
150 - felt light and moved fast
155 - Again, this moved fast - the commentator said it moved like baby weights LOL
161 - The previous national record was 160 so the minimum increase was 1kg which is what I added. I got 1 red light from a side judge but the lift counted. Again, I had a bit more in the tank
Deadlift
210 - I was going to open with 200 but the warm ups felt pretty good so I did 210. Surprisingly (based on my previous weeks of training) this moved pretty easy.
225 - Because 210 went easy I bumped to 225. This went well too.
237.5 - The provincial record was 235 so I bumped it up a bit. Had to work for this but got it.
Total = 608.5 - This increased my national total record by 3.5 KG's. I now hold all the provincial records for my age/weight class too. Pretty happy with that considering I was thinking of not even competing due to injury and poor training results from the previous few weeks.

Re: Powerlifting Meets/Results
I tried.
The last DL session sealed it though.
Just no way i could improve any numbers, DOTS included.
Very dinged up at this point.
Laying off S/B/D until the 18th when i start a new DL cycle.
Less aggressive loading as i will have two full 10 week cycles for the March meet.
SSPT singles with 440X1 at the end of December.
Get healthy, rebuild, and push more going into March.

Re: Powerlifting Meets/Results
Probably the right decision Wilhelm, no sense in doing damage.
Anybody know how Skid's meet is going?

Re: Powerlifting Meets/Results
I'll add to the upcoming meets here as well. I'm competing Feb 24, 2024 at the USAPL Colorado State Championships, in Thornton CO. I've entered the M2 (I turn 50 in March) in the 82.5 kg division.
