@Renascent, google is failing me re: the Yazmin Press. (Seems like a lot of cute chicks named Yazmin lift weights, though.) What is it?

Re: Tip Toeing in my Vibrams
Indeed there are, but it's a snatch push press that I personally opted to name after one in particular -- Yazmin Zammit Stevens.
She made a Reddit post a few years back which included some accessories to the Olympic lifts that she favored in training. I was never looking to learn to do actual snatches, but I liked the idea of trying to get yoked, so I adopted one of her recommendations.
I played around with the Klokov Press a bit at first, but fell into the habit of using knee bend during the ascent. Didn't know that variation already had a name, so I decided to pay homage to Ms. Stevens instead.
It was also sort of like my own personal inside joke, in acknowledgment of the numerous lifts named after people (Zercher Squat, Hatfield Squat, Jefferson Deadlift, and so on).
(Also, there was a guy who used to post here a few years ago who who learned to do those one-and-a-half bench press reps as an accessory. He didn't know what they were called, and settled on referring to them by the name of the gym mate who introduced him to them. Called them "Tylers," which cracked me up for some reason).

Yes.
Some friends and I used to use “Tyler” as a generic for any pos in a Titleist hat or the equivalent thereof.Renascent wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 9:17 pm (Also, there was a guy who used to post here a few years ago who who learned to do those one-and-a-half bench press reps as an accessory. Speaking of pains in the ass, I need to make time to get some butt walks done tonight.

Speaking of red beans, how do you season them?
My wife taught me onion, curry powder, chilli and maybe garlic with diced tomatoes.

And in another twisted way, I am currently using an exercise with one of those Theraband Flexbars called the "Reverse Tyler Twist" to try and get rid of my golfer's elbow. (It worked great the last time I had golfer's elbow ~8yr ago.)

I use garlic, celery, red onions, bell peppers, parsley, green onions, and sausage. Sometimes smoked ham if I allow enough time for it to thaw.
It's the Tony Chachere's that can bring about intestinal warfare if I'm a little heavy-handed.
I have the green flexbar somewhere. Thankfully I've not needed it in a long time.DCR wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 9:15 amThis actually made my head spin a little.

(3.16.2023)
Bilateral Dumbbell Bulgarian Split Squats
40 x 10 x 2
50 x 8 x 2
60 x 6 x 2
Standing Cable Leg Extensions
50 x 12 x 5
Weighted Sisy Squats
25 x 12 x 4
It's supposed to rain tomorrow, so I probably won't get to deadlift until Saturday at the earliest. Might not be such a bad outcome anyway, because my forearms seem real pissy. I remembered that I have two sets of those finger extensor bands at my work desk, so that's been helping, but I'm keeping an eye on things to make sure the issue doesn't get out of hand. Doesn't seem to interfere with bench press, thankfully; heading out of town with the boy in less than two week for a thing, and I'm praying that a decent chest pump will keep some of the smarmier parents at bay.
Might just do some direct forearm work tomorrow night and finally get some decent sleep.
I did some butt walks in between sisy squats tonight; they're interesting enough. I'm not really looking to ease any back pain, but I'd like to see how well they do for improving length and tone in the quadratus lumborum. With flexed hips and the legs and glutes unable to contribute any meaningful forward locomotion, I'm guessing the QLs (and maybe lats, to a lesser degree) are doing the brunt of the work. I should probably leave the speculation to smarter minds, but I'm trying to establish some expectations that I can live with.

I should try it that way. Any particular sausages? Also, by green onions do you mean spring onions?Renascent wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 12:08 pmI use garlic, celery, red onions, bell peppers, parsley, green onions, and sausage. Sometimes smoked ham if I allow enough time for it to thaw.

Possibly, but spicy. Been a long time since I've had salami.

t's probably more like an Andouille or Italian, based on my experience eating Cajun food.MarkKO wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 1:54 amI might go with chorizo in that case.Renascent wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 10:12 pmPossibly, but spicy. Been a long time since I've had salami.
