Re: For Your Health (a hunk's log)
Growing up, one of the punishments at school was Saturday School, which would of course suck since you lost one of you weekend days to more school. You can now threaten that 7-year old with Sunday School if she doesn't behave.
For your parenting.

Going to church as punishment... Reminds me of my early days as a Catholic.

Bench 237.5x10x7 @ballistic. For your volitional intensity.
(65%, H=571)
Chins BW+70x5x7. A portion of my scrotum got pulled into/pinched between the chain and carabiner in the middle of the second set of these. It was excruciating.
ETA: there’s blood in my undies

It was only a bit of skin. But yeah, it's always fun to experience tachypsychia and be forced into a singular mental focus.

Preworkout Musings: We had our free holiday buffet at work today. I went twice. Now I'm bloated and sleepy.
SSB Squat 265x6x7
(65%, H=343)
Barbell Hip Thrust 135x4x8
My buns were way too sore the first time I tried these, so let's start light and build up from there.
Skipping abs and upper back and calves who cares.

Bench 292.5x7x3, 1x7
(80%, H=700)
Landmine Rows 145x3x10, 1x16
These felt like nice active recovery for my sore low back and glutes. Can you call it "active recovery" if the muscles are being used isometrically?
Supersetted x3:
Hanging Knee Raise x12
Standing Calf Raise +30x20
Musings: My wife was online buying some tactical sweatpants; a pair for me and a pair for her. The site gives a medical and military discount, which is managed by a third party entity. I created an account for the discount, and the binary "gender" field was unskippable. I thought that was odd but whatever. Upon entering the meager discount on the shopping site, only the male sweatpants qualified. Damned right wing extremists won't let me wear discounted ladies' tactical sweatpants.

Truth be told, that weren't that tactical- just a couple extra seams and layers. It's more the overall vibe from all the sites that participate in the third-party-verified-medical-and-military-discount system (govx.com)

5:00 Titan Bike warmup because I'm cold and stiff.
Seated DB Press 50x4x10
Supersetted x4:
Incline DB Curl 25x12
Incline Tricep Press 108x12
Musings: We were out shopping yesterday like a couple of idiots, and got some dinner afterward. We rarely go out to eat, but when we do, it's either gastropub or fine dining. This time, on impulse, we went to a casual/family style chain place.
It's as expensive as fine dining, as salty and greasy as gastropub, but lacks all the flavor and ingredient variety of either. I'm recording my thoughts here in hopes it will cement these thoughts in my mind and I will never make this mistake again. For your food snobbery.

Squat 285x8x5
(70%, H=444)
Deadlift 325x5x4
(65%, H=163)
Musings: I haven't been to the dentist in several years, but I have extraordinary tooth genetics and have never had a cavity or braces, and possess all 4 wisdom teeth. I've been meaning to make an appointment just for the sake of preventative care, and last night I dreamt all my teeth were rotting/breaking apart/falling out. I called and made an appointment today.
I also set up a new patient visit for primary care, and called around for eye exam quotes. For your deductible.

I have good teeth genetics too and I've had various dentists tell me that I will probably keep all my teeth for my lifetime and others tell me that if I don't have xx procedure costing $xxxx.xx disaster will occur.broseph wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 2:19 pm 12/12/22

Re: For Your Health (a hunk's log)
Yeah... We take the kids to a place that specializes in pediatric dentistry. Almost everyone in town uses this one, and everyone I've talked to has noticed that "kids nowadays sure need a lot more cavities filled than when we were kids."Culican wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 7:53 am I have good teeth genetics too and I've had various dentists tell me that I will probably keep all my teeth for my lifetime and others tell me that if I don't have xx procedure costing $xxxx.xx disaster will occur.

I've suspected for a long time they are doing unnecessary procedures, but as a layperson I have no idea how to confront the issue. (besides just taking them to a different dentist).
