Robus leather layer in the Inzersdw wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 12:30 pm I was going to start a new thread for this but I'll slide it in here first.
I have an Inzer Forever belt that I've had for over 10 years. At certain body weights or just randomly if it's not set quite right it cuts into the side of my pelvis pretty hard. Not enough to stop me if I were doing something like a 5 rep set but enough to cause me to give up on a high rep AMRAP. And enough to leave welts.
Is this normal for lifting belts or is it a problem with Inzer belts? I have read the criticisms about the Inzer design preventing true break-in, so I'm thinking perhaps the latter.
If so, belt recommendations? I'll also probably get a dip attachment if that matters.
I've heard that the much older Inzers do break in, but i have no idea for sure.
I've found my Pioneer 13mm lever belt comfortable from day one.
Single suede dyed black leather, bought via Rogue, but i see the black Stock 13mm Lever directly from Pioneer states the leather is more pliable than the earlier stock belt of that spec. And you can get it with the PAL already on it.
I retrofitted the PAL. If i ever have a meet director being strict and requiring the IPF approved lever, i still have that and bring it with me to meets.
That shouldn't be an issue at state level USAPL meets though.
In the video Matt talks about some of those belts that don't have the edges chamfered/sanded, and maybe that's part of the comfort factor with my belt.
It's frankly more comfortable to me than my 10mm Titan longhorn.
If you already use a lever belt, i find it hard to imagine you wouldn't like the Pioneer.
Sometimes after heavy sets of deadlift i may have marks for a while, but i wouldn't call them welts.
I push the belt down on my hips for squats, and i might grab it by the bottom edge sometimes when i can "feel it" on initially putting it on, but that's very minor.
I would not describe it as cutting into me.
