Ab Wheel

Am I doing these right? Seems like more of a hamstring and lat exercise than anything to me.

Looks like maybe you’re resting/losing ab tension at the bottom?

Try just barely glancing the ground at the bottom, keeping tension.

Either way, you’ll know if you did them ‘right’ tomorrow.

I touch my nose to the floor on every rep. Chris Duffin has some good instruction...

I do a variant of this the Olympic bar and plates.

What I do, I put my knees on a block or step that 6-7" high.
That was I can get flat, or nose to floor.

The an wheel is a smaller "wheel" than an Olympic plate....
but try a 3" to 4" spacer under your knees.
You get flatter so to speak...

These destroy my elbows but, perversely, I like doing them. I wonder if I'm locking my elbows and that's the problem.

I use the opposite cue of every other exercise here, meaning I encourage spinal flexion to begin with. That seems to help me end up in neutral position.

@TimK: It looks like you loose a bit of tension at the bottom (lower back should stay flat) but otherwise these look fine. I learned them in karate class as a kid and we were tought to focus on squeezing the glutes and abs. But if you have strong abs (and you look like you have a strong midsection) kneeling ab wheels are not all that hard unless you really focus on squeezing everything tight or increase your time under tension.

Same. Keeping the elbows slightly unlocked avoids this problem.
