Race to Dubs!

#1

Post by Idlehands » Tue Sep 19, 2017 5:33 am

Who's in? In the spirit of the race threads. I propose a race to 20" gunz. Been chasing this one for a long time. I don't care if pumped or cold I want to make it. I can get to 19 on a good day. I may have to commit to shw for this one. We'll see. I have some ideas.

I had 20" guns around the age of 28 weighing about 250-260.

My bench was shit at that point. I did all the curls and triceps work. Lots of dumbbell work up to 60s (I still have these) using bro pyramids. 3x a week of the bro work.

If I'm sitting at 18.75" cold after not working out for two weeks, I could probably run up to 20" pretty quick. Maybe a good idea since I'm still trying to figure out how to work back to decent squats and pulls. I'll just go full bro for a couple of months.

I want 20" gunz! I'd have to put on a boatload of size though. I forget the exact measurement, but I'm like 17.5" or something. I doubt do nearly enough curls...

I'm a little over 20" right now (20.125") cold. I will get in on this but try for 21's. Ive added curling to all my days lately. Just a little bit, but I want to see if higher frequency training will help.

Apparently my arms have grown half an inch in the last two months? Not sure how that happened since I've been losing weight and not doing any direct arm work. Maybe they're just still inflamed after adding it in last week and getting horrific DOMS that lasted for five days. I'm at 18.25" (left) 17.25" (right). The size difference has been there forever and unfortunately I don't think there's anything I can do about it.

Anyway the new program has a lot of direct tricep work and I'm adding in curls to balance things out, so hopefully this upward trend will continue. Not holding my breath for 20" any time soon though.

Les is here even? Man I need to just move my log. You and SSD were the only reason I was still updating. And also tapatalk. And I'm lazy.

21 is no joke.

Yes, join us here! I just moved over the other day. Dwayne is here too! I knew he left the SS forum (I read that in his log), but I didn't know this place existed till Tom told me about it.

Yeah, 21's would be nice. I don't know if that will ever happen, but I am going to curl 4x per week (some days are really light and just high reps) and see what happens! In the past I never really curled much at all. So I figure a lot of my arm girth is mainly triceps. If I can add a little bicep in there, maybe it can happen?

Hahaha, this is a hilarious thread for me, I'm so far off from having 20" arms.

Does it count if your upper arm is completely smooth or does there need to be at least a line under your bicep in a front double biceps pose?

Don't worry, me too. I would need to get on a lot of anabolic steroids to get 20" arms.

As a 6'2" man, I feel this is somewhat more attainable for me, but I don't really have much interest in being north of 200 pounds, so...

I'll never hit 20, but I'm in for some motivation for extra arm work. Right now I can't flex my way out of a size smedium.
