Can't wait for the new season of Longmire...I literally might be only one.
I'm really enjoying the Netflix series, but I feel they have nothing for movies. I may have to go back to getting their discs.

I enjoy Longmire. This latest season was kind of weak, but I'm looking forward to the next one still.

Only because Netflix is behind, I think (it might not be now, haven't looked). We watched the latest season as it aired on Foxtel. It's fantastic how they've been able to reinvent the series a few times to keep it fresh.

ayup, last one. The last season did seem to be jumping the shark, but I always look forward to final seasons.acelticmonk wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2017 4:54 pmI like it too... fun old school feeling western. This is the final season, right?

Bojack Horseman is pretty good. It is both silly and profound.

Dude. We started watching this based on your mention of it. Halfway through the season now. Awesome.aurelius wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2017 10:18 am Mindhunters. Based on the true story of how the FBI Behavioral Science Unit (which was one dude) started profiling serial killers. The actor that portrays Ed Kemper in interviews...brilliant. They were literally making it up as they were going. Main character becomes unlikable as show goes on. Interesting decision but it worked.
I forgot what you said about the Ed Kemper actor- my wife and I said the exact same thing about him. He’s perfect.

Yeah this season especially. Similar in some ways to Flaked (another Netflix / Will Arnett show... but live action).
I’m sad there won’t be any more Rick and Morty for ages. The new season seemed to flash past in the blink of an eye....

If the next one is anywhere near season 3, it'll be well worth the 5 year wait.

Can't wait for more... love this show.
Anyone else into Tim and Eric stuff? I'm pretty much obsessed with Bedtime Stories, and this last season was perfect.

Maybe its because I love Marc Moran and Alison Brie but I thought it was excellent.broseph wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2017 12:02 pm2 “really”s for how good Glow was? I don’t know about all that, but I liked it.TwoFoursStrohm wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2017 11:04 am Glow - really really good comedy about womens wrestling in the 80s
I liked OA a lot. The dance moves thing was cringey for me at first, but it’s very different and creative and ultimately I loved it.
I also co-sign Mindhunters. 3 episodes in and it feels like a winner. Its done by David Fincher.

Re: What’s on Netflix?!?
Glow was great. Saw Marc do stand-up a couple years ago, which was a great show. He's really come a long way from his 90's/2000's Hicks-ian anger and self-loathing to now actually being funny as well as off-the-cuff with the crowd work.
Can't agree on the OA, and Marvel's Iron Fist was absolutely atrocious.
If you have for some reason not seen the Documentary "Icarus", just watch it now.

I got 10 or 11 episodes into Iron Fist but lost interest. Glad it wasn’t just me. Shame because I enjoyed Jessica Jones and Daredevil.
Icarus was really, really well done.

Bojack Horseman is great.
Iron Fist was always doomed to be awful, and it is. Loved Jessica Jones and thought Luke Cage was quite good despite some pacing issues. Defenders spends too much time on Iron Fist, so I find it boring af and can't seem to get through it.
Mindhunters is OK.
I like Longmire, but IMO it's declining in quality.
I enjoyed a lot of the Euro detective stuff (Wallander both versions, Shetland, Broadchurch, and derivations like The Killing).
Spiral was great (think a more complex, French Law & Order) but I think it's only DVD now.
I also like the wide variety of shows from the UK, Australia, Canada, etc. Ripper Street is good. Call the Midwife had good early seasons.
Lots of good "vintage" shows on Netflix, too, which are worth a watch if you missed them when they were on TV. Futurama holds up, as does Frasier.

Ha! We cycle back to Frasier from time to time.

Fraiser is awesome. I watched the whole series (ok, a lot of it was background watching) on Netflix a few years back.

I watched Patton Oswalt’s recent stand-up special. It’s excellent. Sure there is a bit of political humor, but the backstory of his wife’s recent passing and how he’s been dealing is touching and his ability to weave it into humor is quite remarkable.
What else you guys and gals got?
Don’t forget you can use spoiler tags if so needed!
20 minutes of poorly done Trump bashing then an hour of me trying to not cry at his very touching and real personal tragedy. I was more emotionally invested and drained in this "comedy" than any drama I can recall.
I hate you.
