Re: Dubstep
I used to go see these guys all the time. Great "live electronic" dance music.

Re: Dubstep
Pretty good, thanks! That "I can't stop" by Flux Pavillion is another good'un
Careful not to mix them with your sleeping pills, granddad
I'll admit, it was an acquired taste for me. If I make you a youtube playlist, will you listen to it on repeat each evening until you enjoy it?
Send me across your favourite song so I can see what sort of warped position you're starting from

Re: Dubstep
I can never remember which genre is which.
Is The Drift by Blackmill dubstep? Probably not.
Afterglow by Phaeleh is right?
And then if course Haunt You by Flux Pavillion must be.
Blue by Gemini?
I used to listen to all this stuff a few years ago, but it's fallen out of favor with me. I listen to more trance/eurobeat/trap remixes now.

Hanley's correct. Die Roboter, Autobahn, great chill music.
Wait, Hanley, were you the guy saying you trained to Music for Airports to be able to produce max effort without being hyped up?

But yeah, I thought the kids were all into chillwave or vaporwave now, you know this whole 1980's and 90's Pepsi Aesthetic:
I train to this kind of thing fairly often actually....I dunno what it is. Video game music I guess.

I have skated in figure skates without a problem. Maybe the blade is shorter than the wheels, so you're closer to the ice/ground and able to balance easier?
Maybe the sharp edge of the blade allows you to get a better "grip" on the ice, allowing you to have the skate and more of an angle before slipping out than wheels allow? And this extra movement allowance makes it less awkward?

Re: Dubstep
I reckon it's what you learn on. I became a pretty decent inline skater. First rec skates then speed skates. Used to do my daily work commute (~7k) on 4x110mm wheel speed skates. Travelling at bike speeds with no ankle support on a seriously long (this is actually a positive I guess) and high (not a positive) wheelbase. Figured out how to do the double push technique for more speed. Still: I was a hapless noobtard on ice. Sure, I could get around, and do my t-stops and shit, but I was no Chazz Michael Michaels.DirtyRed wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 9:31 pm I have skated in figure skates without a problem.
