master of none

I posted in the stall of shame thread, StStNLP took me from ~ the bar to S/B/D/P: 325/ 172.5/ 330/ 125, all for 5's I think, between July 2019 and January 2020. Stopped barbell lifting around August that year, after not making too much gains for a while. KB:S&S kept my hip hinge strong I guess. Did OK w/cardio in the interim. etc

Restarting LP on 4/16/21
Trying out a modified SL5x5. Basically taking all the offered additional movements except LTEs[b/c elbowfuck] (so chins, dips, and curls) and additionally alternating front squats with HBBSs and increasing DL volume to three sets. Started with 135 on squats and it felt heavy!? so I've been going up by 5lbs every session there (twice as slow as vanilla SL b/c of the front squat). DL felt easy, made bigger jumps to 225 and now going by 5lbs from there.

Bench and press I've already stopped LP around 70% of my e1RM (135 and 95 lbs, nice round #s). what is this, week 4? I've combined the BBM pressing fix w/HVLF benching. I'm adding sets to the bench day until I get to 9 - 11, holding the weight constant. Keeping pressing day at 5x5 at 95lbs, but adding bench sets of 7 at 125 lbs (65%? quien sabe), starting w/3 sets.

Up to 3 sets of 9 for bw dips and chins. Once I can do 10 comfortably I'll drop to sets of 5, weighted. ttfn

bar didn't really slow on bench until I got to the end of set no. 9!

also don't feel bad about taking my squat up real slow, as I'm running on the tread mill ~5x/wk. Just a couple miles, mostly low hr stuff

Thank you! I was an anti-treadmill Luddite purist, but was convinced to buy one at what seemed like a good deal at the price club, and I'm actually really diggin the HR-regulated pacing features. Even in [math]\beta[/math] it seems to work well enough for my purposes (slow running, zone 2, not ramping up mileage too quickly and getting hurt and falling off the wagon)
