Root's mediocre return to lifting

#1

Post by Root » Wed Mar 18, 2020 4:09 pm

I turn 40 this year, and my plan was to do a meet and beat all my previous PRs as a "master" lifter. Maybe even get on a podium or something, since I'm no longer competing with 20-somethings. So I decided to take a few weeks off in January to heal the accumulated bumps, bruises, and fatigue, and then start my meteoric rise to super-duper strong 40 year old Root.

And then I went and took two and a half months off like a dumbass.

Here we go again...

Thanks! I'm desperately in need of some consistency, fitness-wise. Feels like I need it now more than ever.

Same. It's the only part of my routine still hanging on.

Welcome back.

Also struggling with consistency after a break, and also the madness in the world right now.

Let's be accountability buddies.

3/29/2020 - Cardio

Weighed 237 this morning. That's light for me, probably just due to lost muscle.

20 Jump rope -> 2 chins -> 4 burpee

10 rounds of that, EMOM, 30 min total

And you have a new log, I see. I mostly only follow threads on my notification list and check occasional threads I see in New Posts so I missed yours for a while.

I assume you're as handsome and meat savvy as ever?

Not sure if serious.

You probably comment in too many threads for it to be useful. Any thread I comment in is automatically added to my subscriptions. When I open Exodus, I just click my notifications to see new posts in those threads. I have to manually unsubscribe from threads I comment in and don't want notifications.

The only email notifications I get are when someone quotes me. I do this so I can keep up with conversations in real time-ish.

Totally serious- I know about the notifications when someone quotes or mentions me, but that's it...

Pretty sore today from that 3x3 ab wheel. Crazy.

The ab wheel is evil. Such punishment from such a small cheap tool.

Mine is buried in the cupboard. Where it may well stay for a long time....
