A Slightly Salty NLP

#1

Post by Brackish » Mon Feb 03, 2020 4:04 pm

Bit of background information for my first post - I messed around with working out for the past two years. I started with waving dumbbells around, moved to a push, pull, legs program, switched to 5/3/1, and eventually ended up finding Starting Strength. After reading the two books, I decided to give a NLP a shot. I going to give daily logging a shot, but it will probably more like weekly.

I'm a 35 year old male at 5' 10" and currently 170lbs (started my NLP at 165lbs).

Progress so far -

Squat - 135x5x3 to 190x5x3
Deadlift - 225x5x1 to 270x5x1 (Failed 275x5x1 twice and had to reset.)
Bench - 135x5x3 to 147.5x5x3
Press - 85x5x3 to 105x5x3

I've had two major illnesses in the month of January which cost me workouts and progress, as well as failures on deadlift and squat technique issues that resulted in me resetting both of those lifts. I look forward to continuing to make progress and see just how much weight I can actually move.

Cool. Me, too. A brackish marsh is a few hundred feet from where I’m sitting.

Awesome! They’re everywhere here. Actually live on a peninsula.

Do you fish? I never got into it, but brackish waters are supposed to be great for fishing.

There is a dolphin population that live here that some are trying to get named as their own species/subspecies. They are born, live, and die in the brackish intercoastal waterways.

As much as I can. But I don’t discriminate based on type of water. I’m blessed to have access to fresh, brackish, and salt water all within a 30 minute drive. We get dolphins here, but it’s not super common. If I do see them, I pack up my gear and go home. Not catching anything with them around.
