Re: Throwinshapes' Log
Main charts updated, first time in months.
Bulk mode finally engaged in earnest. Moderate bulk (aiming for 0.25% - 0.5% gain/wk), running RP Male Physique template, 5 day, chest/back focus.
I can't believe how many sets/reps I'm doing now. This coming week will be the overreaching week (6th week), with 172 sets planned. The template adjusts to your recovery, and I've seemed to be able to just add sets week after week. I'm sure a large part of this is moving away from the big compounds to more isolation movements.
An aside: moving towards more isolation movements has me doubting my home gym decision. I have serious thoughts of selling everything and picking up a membership somewhere...
I've really enjoyed this style of training. So many different exercises keep it interesting. Completing each set to a RPE/RIR target rather then rep count allows me to execute sets across with consistent effort levels. Load the bar once, no messing around with weights as you fatigue set to set.
