Decent day back into deadlifting. Weights moved well, just need to get used to pulling heavy again. This was my first time benching against bands and I think it may have some utility, especially as a lighter variation that doesn't aggravate my shoulder and punishes some of my bad tendencies.

Going back to a slight variation of one of the older BBM templates that has worked for me in the past. Starting a 6 week weightlifting class tomorrow night so that should be fun. Accepting that I'm a hobbyist means I can allow myself to do more fun things.

Quick little GPP session to try to get my fat-ass back into shape. Also attended my first beginner weightlifting course and had a great time. Ended up being a one on one session as the other participants didn't show. Looks like there's some hope for me to possible be a real athlete.

DB Bench 12x65@7, 12x70@8, 12x75@9

Deadlifts went pretty well considering I haven't been training them; just need to reacquaint myself with bracing hard and pulling heavy. Pin press went really well. This variation felt awesome and by limiting the range of motion resulted in no shoulder pain; definitely a keeper. Just did the work on DB bench and ensured a full range of motion; some slight discomfort, but overall making positive steps.

495 on high bar is a PR, so that's a nice place to start the block. The weightlifting classes have been a lot of fun and leaving me exhausted. Overall, really happy with things so far.

I'm fairly certain the top set of high bar squats ties a PR and there's more in the tank there, so I'm excited for future prospects. It's nice to be benching 300+ again; I played it safe and stopped at 300 even though I really wanted 3 plates today. Slow and steady return.

Nice to be able to pull 600 without much fanfare. The weightlifting classes are a lot of fun, and apparently I'm not completely terrible at it. Might sign up for a local meet in November just to get my feet wet.
