HouseHorse's Log of WeakSauce

#1

Age: 17
Weight: 158~
Height: 5' 9''

Was with SSOC for a while during novice, couldn't deadlift consistently since main gym wouldn't allow it. Had some elbow pain that I now know I probably should have lifted through but that made me reset my press and bench.
Belive PRS at end were 275x1 squat, 115x5 bench(wow), 225x3 deadlift, and 95x5 press.

Stopped cause of tennis season but I was also sick of grinding and voluntary hardship.

Started training again as soon as summer started and restarted LP but with BBM upper body plugin because I wanted more volume even though I didn't need it probably. Had to not train for a week, then started back with GreySkull with arms plug in. Cue just a few weeks later and my impatient self decides to fuck around and try writing his own hypertrophy block of which currently I am in the middle of.

I guess I'll log for accountability and so maybe I can get saved by a prince much smarter member of this forum when I'm being stupid and impatient(so all the time).

I'll start with Saturday(7/21)

Squat 180x5, 185x5, 185x5 @6, I was doing 10s in the earlier weeks but I realized that I don't care as much about leg hypertrophy right now and would rather get do heavy weight. So coming back to fahves.
Bench 107.5x5 @0, 112.5 x5 @9, 110 x 5 @8, 110x5(cut set prematurely cause felt like I was going to fail and had no spotter around, but I probably had more.)
Cable Row 57.5 x13x13x13x13
Curl 38 x11, x11, x11 @9

No, my ability to rate RPE is not accurate at all.

Planning to hire RTS in January.

Thanks, @Stenson and @Wilhelm
7/24/2018

Deadlift 180x5, x5, x5
DB Incline Bench 25x14, 25x14, 20x10, lower weights to see if everything made my shoulder hurt

Incline Bench and Machine Flyes seem to make my right shoulder angry. Pain is just present throughout the entire movement. Odd. I think that I will program very light weight of these and progress it in the near future.

Lat pulldown: 60x12, x12@8, x10,x10

Slowed down the tempo and added a pause after second set.

Lateral Raises: 5 lbs x ?????
I was just fucking around with these, these also seem to bother my right shoulder but not much. I will see if I can start light and progressively overload these in the near future.

Wish I had Micheal Ray on Speeddial

Your shoulder pain is worrisome.

If the lateral raises bother you, try them at 45' out with your thumbs up.

Better yet, you might just do dumbbell presses.

You might also through in some reverse flies. They might help with the should bs. It's hard to say though. Inverted rows with scapular retraction might help too. . . Where is the pain?

Hey @iamsmu, thanks for the concern. I am doing my best not to panic about this shoulder pain, as I think it will go away. It's not very bad, but I will try that way of doing lateral raises. I can't pinpoint a specific location for my shoulder pain, just anterior side.

Was rushed for time.

HB Squat: 150 3x8, skipped last set.

Press: 75 2x5, 1x6, 1x5. These were supposed to be 6s but I've been playing around with technique a lot and did the sets of 5 strict. My performance doesn't seem to be improving though.

Screwed around with 303 tempo benches.

DB curls: 15 3 sets @8.

My body is not too happy with me right now. Left Knee bothering me after squats and something in my left wrist during benches. I don't think this programming is appropriate for me at this time, so I think next week I will deload/pivot and see what I will do from there. Maybe get some GPP cardio in.

Think I learned stuff with this block of experimentation, but not sure how much I can conclude. Changed programming and sleep and stressors all decreased and increased respectively.

Outdoor easy bike ride.

7/29

"Deloading" by basically going back to LP for a bit except with tempo squats

135 3x5 tempo squat 5-0-3
110 3x5 bench
Deadlift 185 1x5
