The Refining Power of Voluntary Mediocrity Log

I prefer a pen and notebook but thought I'd give this a try.

Male
47
5' 11
280lb

Training on and off for a while. Occasional bouts of productivity, mostly just cruising along. Attempted SSNLP a few times and crashed out a few times. Had to take time off to nurse some knee issues now back at it. Presently training a 2 on/2 off LP routine I saw in BBRx. Sprinkling in some cardio and watching my diet. So far so good. I mostly train at home.

This is from 3/20. The day I was originally going to start logging on Exodus

Cardio:
Airdyne 11min
C2 10min
VMX Rope 10 min

Avg HR: 142

Bench:
185 x 5
205 x 5
225 x 5
I don't really care for bench press but I'm trying to learn how to do it right. I don't have a bench at home so I throw it in after cardio.

DB Incline:
40 x 10
DB Preacher Curl
30 x 10

Today:

Squat
250 x 5 x 3

Press
185 x 5,5,4
I did get the final rep on last set but it sucked so I didn't count it. I've been trying to convert from v1.5 to v2.0

Have been training haphazardly, just fucking around doing this or that. Going to to start back up again on a regular schedule.

Now that it's cooler I'm going to work on running again. Started McCallum's running program last week. Tonight was first full workout.

8 laps around track alternating walk and jog. By jogging I mean trotting... very... slowly

From 8/27

Squats - easing back in
235 X 1 RPE @ 8
205 x 5 x 3

Knees felt good after first few warm ups. I've abandoned the "Hip Drahve" cue as I have found a modified leg press cue works better and eliminates some of the knee issues at this point in time.

going to start picking up the pace during the walk laps to shave some time off. My jog pace seems just about right to keep my form intact.

Been working out of town for a week and didn't do shit except one day where I walked miles around our nations capital for what seemed like hours in 90 degree heat. This week I'm going to start a 12 week challenge of sorts to get myself back training consistently. In the mean time...

Walked 1.5 miles
Push ups 3x5

25 lb KB Cleans 5 x 3
25 lb KB Press 3 x 8

New year, new me! lol Not really. Figured I'd give this another shot. I'm 10 lbs lighter and 3 years older. Been exercising (not training) on/off since last entry. Varying intensity and effort. Managed to maintain the majority of my injuries, strength not so much. Ran a Joel Jamieson conditioning program this summer which went well. Toying with various strongman implements for fun and some beach work. Had a vasectomy on 12/29 so this was first post- "workout". Felt fine. Going to ramp up workouts over next two weeks and hopefully land on something sustainable.

Vasectomies are usually outpatient procedures, yes?

Do they normally advise against physical activities until some time afterwards, or do you sorta go by feel before deciding when to start training thereafter?

Yes, outpatient.Took about 30 minutes

I was told to for the first 48 hours I should limit all activity. Over the next 7 days avoid any strenuous exercise and not lift over 15 lbs. After that go by feel. It feels fine until I bump my nuts then I'm like nah lol I'm in no rush.

I'm surprised there isn't a vasectomy thread on here. I couldnt find one when I looked.
