I might know a bloke, down the Edgeware Rd, who can find these things. Drives a white van, drinks at the lamb and flag. Lagers only, mind.

Great to see you here, JC.

I'll have to figure out the shorthand methods for your training sessions so I can follow along!

2017-09-19. 1020-1100

Strictish football bar press 10x10 48x5 81x5 71x5 71belt+wrist wraps x7

Chins +32 x2 (just about!) Bw x10

Paused safety squat bar squats 20x5 58 100 156belt x3fail 140belt x5

2017-09-21. 1035-1100

Strictish FBpress 10x10 48x5 82.5 x3 72.5 x5 72.5b,ww x5

Pssbsq 20x5 58x3 (fuckup) 100 156b x1f 140b x5

So, a quick summary of my lazy shit:

Not really in a state to lift properly, so I chose 2 lifts I am unfamiliar with but which hold training value (I am looking to build a solid and stable start/turnaround with these primarily), and ehihc I can't really compare to known lifts so I don't get weighed down comparing where I "should be".

For the presses, I am doing a minimal warmup and hitting what was a heavy single, but that changed to a heavy double because progress, which then changed to a "ah fuck it, if I feel good for more I may as well do some, right?"

So the first set is both an overwarmup, a top set and an autoregulatory "testing the adaptation" kind of pseudo TM heavy day thang. Obviously it won't be at its best every day, but I figure I'll get enough data over the longer term to see some trends. (That is what all you fancy fuckers do, right, with your learnins and books?)

Beyond that, set one is simple volume accumulation, nowt crazy. Set two started out as more of the same, but since I rush my rests, to make up for that I belt up and down the wrist wraps to get a similar overall difficulty out of not being fully recovered. This set has also morphed into something of an autoregulatory pisstake, basically i press ideally 5 reps and if they weren't too taxing I do some more

Paused safety squat bar squat squats: I dislike doing repeated squat sets because I get fucking knackered, pressing is quicker to recover from but squats kill me, do less overall volume here. Basically a self-regulating top set, then a lighter volume backoff, which even though it kills me right in the heart, I know by bar speed it's easy enough so I just keep plugging away.

I also do a bunch of neutral grip chins and pull-ups at work irregularly, but I guess they are enough to kinds maintenance my chins I guess, my lifetime PR is 32kg X3, do to be only 1 rep down after basically not doing them properly for about half a year is ok enuff

2017-09-25. 0940-1005

Strictish FBpress 10x10 48x5 82.5 x5 72.5 x5 72.5b,ww x5

Rushed a little to get the last set in, first 4 reps went quick and i totally died unexpectedly midway on 5 so i called it a day there

Pssbsq 20x5 58 100 140b x5x2

Going for a fairly moderate volume thang this week, so I'm gonna stay at a lower weight and get some tidy reps in, don't want to push the weight too much especially on Monday, tbh the last rep on each set was about the limit of where I was willing to be regarding bar speed/form breakdown anyway, although I coulda rested longer before set 2. See how the week goes anyway I guess.

Edit: fucking shitty video stuff, bollocks to it. Open it yourself if you give a toss

We need a glossary or something in the opening post. For any simpletons who can't work out what pssbsq means (and me)

I may be copying your 20 minute sessions. Got to be better than my 1 hour / month current run rate.

If getting in and out quick in less-than-ideal conditions is the plan, I might be able to help!

Been chewing over some increased efficiency ideas lately, posted up top about it to bounce it off some of you smart fuckers and see what is left to use

So, a quick recap:

Started out last week aiming to hit a little more volume, not really pushing it but just planned to do 4 days out of 5 instead of 3, nowt heavy-heavy but letting the reps autoregulate however they may (pressing, really, fuck extra squat reps! But an extra day would likely do it anyway)

Except towards the end of the week I got a bit Ill, so I binned it off.

Plan was, to hit teh volumez, take a long weekend then drop the frequency and volume and just have a couple of heavy days playing with singles this week, kind of a lazy spreading of the iconic and never-ending wrong Texas method, over two self levelling weeks for more sustainable progress, if I could call it that.

Except that is kinda screwed now, but whatever. Gonna just up the weight a little and roll it out again if I can, suppose that's progress too, eh!

Fucking lazy arse, can't even be bothered to plan it out properly...

I spent 2 hours yesterday moving an upright piano by mysen, with no wheels.

No lifting today, or possibly ever again.

Care to elaborate? I'm not sure I get it!

Full disclosure: I purchased a proper guitar last weekend, although the ukulele still gets a look in, it is a little neglected at the moment

GODFUCKINGDAMMIT

I think I may have put more "songs" here than logged any lifting so far, but I had a dabble this morning and while it's not really turned out how I wanted, I guess it's a step down the road?

Baby steps?

Fucking whatever

Is this the Jimmy Buffett tribute thread now?

I love how happy you looked when you went to turn off the camera after your "duet."
