I just wanted to drop a quick line and say that your consistency in training as a blue-collar working dad inspires me regularly.
Solid work sir.

I appreciates it.

I suppose this would be an ironic time to mention I'm considering taking the day off?

I hate to admit there was a time in my life I would have cared more...

But nah, thunderstorms are supposed to roll in tomorrow which is usually the first day of yard chores. If I don't mow twice a week my yard gets out of control quick. Nevermind that it's fucking 90 today...

The rain should cool it off by the time I get home to train tomorrow and I'll just double up on Friday when it's supposed to be a comfy 70 something...

RDL
345x8x2, 365x8

Squat
335x3x8

Wide Stance Box Squat
225x12x3

If did cool off on my way home as anticipated, and then warmed up to rainforest right before the squats, lame. Not counting my chickens before they hatch on the box squats but my hip symptoms are noticeably improving, could be from them, could be from the reduced intensity... don't really care. Whatever it is it's working.

Slight bump but it was expected and still fits the overall down trend.

Chicken finger pizza probably not on my diet plan but I'm thanking my father in law for helping me pick up 3000 lbs worth of landscaping shit this afternoon.

Pushing 1900 lbs of retaining wall bricks and mulch through a parking lot with a not so slight at all uphill grade made my very sad calves very tired hahaha...

Actually a very short wall, but long lol, I ended up buying 110 bricks, about 23 lbs a piece to do the edging around our pool, and wound up only needing 90... haven't decided what to do with the other 20...

Tack on 500 lbs of paver base and like 15 bags of mulch though.

Been meaning to do this for years as it always just looked boring. Lot of work lol, started at like 9:00 am and didn't wrap until about 7:30...

Looks good now, put planters at the posts on the pool and Lowes had a bunch of landscape lights on good sales so it's all lit up. Only bummer is I sprung for LED tikis because the were half off ($15 each sign me up) and didn't realize you have to turn them on manually, I thought they were autos.. meh...

Close Grip Bench
225x11x2, 225x9

Super Bar Curl
95x10x3

Basically went at these cold and it shows but I was determined to do something. You would think it would be easier being 'fresh' but in general they felt like shit... great pump though hahaha

Mon - wiped out from Sunday landscaping, literally couldn't stay awake and just felt like ass all day. Possibly sick..

Tue - rear brakes decided to leave the chat so I did those as soon as I got out of work...

Today - turns out I broke half of the parking brake on my side getting the rotor off so occasionally the shoe would drift out of place and catch inside the rotor which is a fun experience at highway speed... so I had to rip that apart before squeezing in this little bit of 'training'...

Hammer Curl

*could have been any number of reasons but damn I really wanted to wrap about half way through this lol. Jacked up my rest time from 60 sec to 90 sec to get through the back half... I'm so damn tired.

This mess of a week just might be (another) soft reset... even after a couple weeks I'm battling boredom so expect rotating ranges and movements I guess...

Remember when I used to do like 8, 12, 15 week blocks/programs? Yeah, neither do I lol...

K time to tinker... hopefully I can stick to this and it's good for me...

Gonna try something I've been curious about and should have tried earlier which is the 'a week isn't just 7 days' concept. I plan to implement my week over about a week and a half or so, which is a convenient way of saying I'm going back to M/W/F's for now so I can fit in projects, chores, and family shit the rest of my free time.

Optimal? Doubt it, but maybe it will create the illusion of extra time and added variety as each 'week' won't actually be the same. Fingers crossed...

ive alwyas thought m-w-f is actually optimal. you train full body, take the next day to recover, do that 3 times and take an extra day off (Sun) just to hedge your fatigue levels, to be safe. anytime ive goine to 4 day where there is back to back days, i seem to burn out and get aches and pains after a couple months.

It very well might be, and I'm hoping to figure that out... the way I laid it out this morning is still a U/L split but maybe the next go round I'll try fulls...

Obvious caveat that your lifts are well more advanced than mine. That said, I’ve been working on an every other day, U/L, eight-day split for quite awhile now, and it’s been pretty great. I’m this close to breaking my lifetime press PR from over four and a half years ago, and I only hit it every eight days. I remember when I used to think that if I didn’t hit it two or even three times per calendar week, it would crater. What a joke.

Very well could be and hopefully I respond well, would obviously be cooler in a surplus but I'm not really trying to lose that much more weight anyway...

For the keen eyed, yes I'm dipping back into Baker's well of shit I've never really tried before... not to sound like a timeless echo, but the more of his stuff I read the more perplexed I am by his associations...

Why? These are the skin ripping pumps I've been looking for hahaha

I got 275x13 once and my legs had plenty left but the number of breaths needed between reps got to the point that I just called it.

Bruh, luckily 225 is so super light that I was able to breath my way through the reps after like 7 because I would have never made it. I hate standing there between reps trying to catch my breath, it just feels like I'm in a video game and my health bar is just draining away hahaha
